FAQs — Premium Finance Customers

On January 15, 2007, Mepco sold its insurance premium financing business to Premium Financing Specialists, Inc. If you are a customer with a loan prefix of MPF or MAC and have a question regarding your account, please call 1-800-397-6767. If you are an agent, please call 877-242-0069
Q: Where do I send my payment?
A:

Please see this page for payment instructions.

Q:  How do I find out my account status and payment history?
A:

Mepco has several ways you may view your account status and payment history:

1. You may view your account online 24hrs a day

2. Mepco provides a toll-free 24-hour account status number. Call 1-800-397-6767. Press 1 for insurance premium financing.

Q:  Is there a grace period for payments? How many days?
A:  All payment grace periods are governed by state law. In most states, there is a grace period of between 5 and 10 days after the payment due date before late charges are assessed, and between 20 to 30 days before cancellation.
Q:  When will I be assessed late charges?
A:  In accordance with state law, a late charge will be assessed if payment is not received by the payment due date. In most states, late charges will be applied 5 to 10 days after the payment due date.
Q:  Why was my account cancelled?
A:  Mepco only requests cancellation of accounts for non-payment of premium installments. Depending on state law, Mepco will request cancellation of the policies if payment is not received between 20 to 30 days from the payment due date.
Q:  How can I get my account reinstated?
A:  Mepco will request reinstatement of a policy if the account is brought current by paying all past due payments and late charges and fees (request for reinstatement may be delayed if account has history of NSF payments). Mepco will request reinstatement only when the account is current. Although Mepco can request reinstatement, the insurance company will decide whether to reinstate the account.
Q:  How do I get a refund on a cancelled account?
A:  On cancelled or fully paid accounts, Mepco will mail any credit balance refund directly to the customer unless we are specifically instructed otherwise by either the customer or Insurance Agent
Q:  What are the payment options?
A:  Mepco offers a variety of payment options:

1. If you have decided to receive a monthly bill, you can mail your payment in with a personal check, cashiers check or money order.

2. Check by Ach via fax @ 312-853-0535 using this form.
